Bill to Amend the Kansas Act Filed

Reps Jake LaTurner (R-KS-1) and Tracey Mann (R-KS-2) have filed the Kansas Act Amendment Bill.  Filing this in Congress provides a marking point for getting the bill introduced in the next Congress and for getting DOI and DOJ support.

H.R.9684 – To amend title 18, United States Code, to require affirmative consent from the governing body of certain Indian Tribes for jurisdiction to be conferred on the State of Kansas over offenses committed on the reservations of such Indian Tribes, and for other purposes.
