MAYETTA: More than 95 children are participating in activities at the Boys & Girls Club this summer. The photos below were taken today at the club of some of their activities.
A Book Fair was being held in the club library and continues through tomorrow. Scholastic Books are for sale and part of the proceeds will be donated by the company to help buy books for the Boys & Girls Club library.
Other items were also for sale that these girls were considering.
This youngster found a comfortable spot in the Boys & Girls Club library that is always available to club members.
Anthony Sandoval, who is working at the Boys & Girls Club this summer, was teaching the youth keyboarding today. Sandoval, a Prairie Band Potawatomi member, learned to play the keyboard in high school.
These two boys were testing out their musical skills.
Teaching each other and helping to learn.
A basketball clinic also took place in the Boys & Girls Club gym.
The clinic was taught by Chuck Freemont (Chippewa), who is based in Oklahoma and is a financial consultant for Morgan Stanley. Freemont played several years ago as a point guard for the University of Northern Colorado and said he enjoyed teaching youth about basketball and giving back to Native communities.
