MAYETTA: The Charitable Contributions committee held a ceremony today where almost $87,000 was awarded to 27 organizations at a ceremony at the Prairie Band Casino & Resort. Tribal Chairman Steve Ortiz was the emcee for the ceremony that occurred this morning.
Tonya Greeve, Mayetta Business Association, thanks the Charitable Contributions Committee today at the Prairie Band Casino & Resort. The Mayetta Business Association received a $5,700 donation that will help them with upcoming events they have planned. Mayetta is the community closest to the Prairie Band Potawatomi Common Land.
The Topeka Blues Society received a $5,000 donation and were photographed with Chairman Steve Ortiz (in vest). The organization is in its fourth year and is a contributor to music education and entertainment in the Topeka area.
Ashley Scheideman gave a word of thanks after receiving a check for $9,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Kansas that is based out of Wichita, Kan.
