MAYETTA: Sara Gartenmayer has been appointed as a member of the Election Board by Tribal Council and will work with Arlene Lingo and Sherri Landis in overseeing the upcoming Gaming/Ethics Commission Election scheduled for July 27. Gartenmayer was sworn in as an alternate in April and was designated a permanent member by Tribal Council on May 7.
Seven candidates are running for two positions on the Gaming Commission and their photos and profiles (if submitted) can be seen on this website at http://www.pbpindiantribe.com/candidates.aspx . In addition, resource information about the election is also available including the election calendar, notices of the election, and Potawatomi News guidelines for submitting profiles.
Members 18 years and older have until next Wednesday, May 22 at 4 p.m. to register to vote in the election. Members who have voted in prior elections do not need to re-register to vote. Ballots will be mailed out on June 12.
