MAYETTA: Workers are being kept busy this winter on the Firekeeper Golf Course with construction of the clubhouse and cart barn that began in November. Below are some photographs that were taken yesterday at the work site:
The exterior of the 2,750 foot clubhouse. The clubhouse sits on the north side of 150 Road between Q Road and the entrance of the Prairie Band Casino & Resort.
This photo was taken from the clubhouse facing south and shows the porch area on the west side. The porch will be screened in and will provide a place where golfers can watch other players tee off on the number 1 hole or practice on a putting green. Note the cart barn under construction to the right.
A closer view of the future cart barn.
Workers at the site include, from left to right, Rob Christie, project superintendent from Landscapes Unlimited, Inc, and Dax (PBPN) and Lavon Goslin (Kickapoo) who work for Reservation Drywall which is a Native American company in the area. Christie was supervising the site and the two Goslin men were installing insulation.
Another laborer from Landscapes Unlimited Inc.can be seen working on the inside of the clubhouse. The room shown will be the snack bar/restaurant area. The building will also include a pro shop and dressing rooms.
