MAYETTA: The late Jim Potter has been selected as one of five inductees into the Holton/Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame. Potter was selected for his work in bridging relations between Jackson County and the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation for over 20 years.
Potter was killed in a motorcycle accident last June on the common land. He had served on the Nation’s Tribal Council for 18 years and was also active in community service in Holton and Jackson County.
Others selected for the Hall of Fame in addition to Potter are Brad Stauffer, Mike Ford, Bill and Debra Brown. The Hall of Fame Banquet is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 5 in Holton.
