MAYETTA, KS – Ada Marie “Meeks-sah-quah” Levier, 89, of Mayetta, KS passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at her home on the Potawatomi Common Land. She was born June 21, 1927, in Mayetta, KS, the daughter of Oscar and Mary (Mahkuk) Levier.
Ada attended Haskell Institute. She had worked various places in the housekeeping and linen department, including the State Hospital in Topeka. Ada was a homemaker, taking care of her three sons.
She was baptized at a young age as Catholic and later joined the Native American Church. Ada was also a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard J. Fogg, of the home; two sons, Gary Buskirk of Rossville, KS and Mike O’Dell of Montana and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ada was preceded in death by a son, Edgar Lee Levier on February 25, 2016; a sister, Phidelia Levier and a brother, Tucker Levier.
Native American Services will be Sunday evening, April 9, 2017 at Nozhackum Hall west of Mayetta. Burial will be Monday afternoon, April 10, 2017 in Mahkuk Cemetery.
