MUSKOGEE, OK – April Rene’ Blakeslee, 51, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021. She was born on April 27, 1969, to Halidon George Blakeslee and Glenda Joyce (Goolsby) Blakeslee in Muskogee, Oklahoma. April graduated from Muskogee High School with the class of 1987.
April worked at Domino’s Pizza as a dishwasher and was affiliated with Incor. She loved going to the Special Olympics where she won several medals. She also loved going bowling and roller skating. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. April loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
April was preceded in death by her grandparents, Glen and Geneva Goolsby, and Evelyn Blakeslee.
She is survived by her father, Hal Blakeslee of Muskogee, OK; her mother, Glenda Blakeslee of Muskogee, OK; her brother, Michael Blakeslee of Muskogee, OK; her uncles, Bill Blakeslee of Muskogee, OK, and John Blakeslee of Texas; her aunts, Helen Cantrell of Oklahoma and Margaret Jansen of Titusville, FL; her special friends, Gerald Brostek, Patrick O’Reilly, and Dallas Brostek all of Muskogee, OK; and many other family members.
A celebration of April’s life will be 10 AM, Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Pastor Emery Mason officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Darvin McClellan, Jeffrey Seward, Cheri Dixon, Tom Heathcock, Gregg Modell and Jim Montgomery serving as pallbearers.
