Elizabeth Ann Young
December 3, 1929 – July 25, 2024
Elizabeth Ann Young, Sha Note, (68) was born on November 13, 1954, in Wisconsin, Rapids, Wisconsin at Riverview Hospital to Delores E. Young, adoptive parents Rebecca M. (Simon) and Amos J. Young. Elizabeth passed on May 24, 2023.
She had previously lived in Wisconsin, California and Arizona.
Elizabeth studied Elementary Education at AZ State University. She believed in the importance of penmanship lessons in the curriculum.
Elizabeth coordinated the Family and Child Education program at Casa Blanca Community School in Bapchule, Ariz. until she obtained a new job in 2014.
She was an avid student and received several Associate degrees, one as a paralegal. All her studies helped her in various life situations. She was instrumental in organizing powwows in the Phoenix area.
Elizabeth loved to laugh as well as cry at the drop of a hat! She was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and prayer. Elizabeth’s favorite hymn was “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow.”
Elizabeth is a Prairie Band Potawatomi tribal member.
Elizabeth is survived by her sister Mary L. Young, Mayetta, Kan., 3 children and many grand and great-grandchildren, Kan., uncles Warren Young, Calif., and Edwin Young, Virg.
She was preceded in death by her mother Delores E. Young, Rebecca and Amos J. Young, sisters Alfreda, Carol Jean Young and a brother in infancy.
Elizabeth was cremated in Heritage Crematory, El Mirage Ariz., June 10, 2023.
