Elizabeth Bartlett

Elizabeth Bartlett, 78, Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, Thursday, December 12, 2024.
Elizabeth was born April 13, 1946, in Topeka, the daughter of Orville and Louise Wamego Rice. She graduated from Topeka High School and then attended Chilocco Indian School in Oklahoma to study cosmetology. She was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
Elizabeth was a member of APA 9 & 8 Ball Pool League with teammates, Chuck, Ray and Terry. She was a tournament participant with many awards and a member of the Native’s pool team as well. Elizabeth was a packer for Frito Lay, retiring with 27 years of service. She loved helping people, was adventurous and a social butterfly. She remembered all birthdays and was a baker and cake maker for birthdays and weddings.
Elizabeth loved her family dearly and they loved her, surrounding her with the sight and fragrances of beautiful flowers in her final days. Elizabeth was a firm believer in the only Son of God, Jesus Christ.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Thomas Bartlett and his wife, Lovella; grandsons, Benjamin, Alexander and Zachariah; her brother Raymond “Butch” Rice and his wife, Jeannie; Ryan Bartlett and his family; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeannette Kay Bartlett and her siblings, Lavina Olson, Jeffrey Rice, Orville Rice, Jr. Sylvia Rice and Sammye Starkey and her husband, Erivin “Tom” Starkey,
Elizabeth’s family will greet friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. A Celebration of Elizabeth’s Life will be Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Shipshee Cemetery, Mayetta.
