Francis F. “Bug” Wishteyah, Jr.

Francis Frank Wishteyah, Jr., 66, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita, Kan.

He was born on June 25, 1941 at Mayetta, Kan. the son of Francis F. and Christeen Mahkuk Wishteyah. He graduated from high school in Topeka, Kan. and attended Haskell Indian College, Lawrence, Kan. He was a Physicians Assistant for several years, a barber for many years, and lastly a heavy equipment operator who built bridges. He attended the Apostolic Faith Church.

On January 22, 1996 he married Marjorie L. Johnson at Hutchinson, Kan. She survives. Other survivors include: three sons, Fred Hyatt, Chillicothe, Mo., Jeff Foster, Kansas City, Mo. and Greg Foster, Ashbuen, Va.; a daughter, Jill Lumpkins and husband, Delwin, Hutchinson, Kan.; six granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Steve Wishteyah, and Pat Mahkuk and a sister, Dorothy Sheppard, all of Topeka, Kan. Two uncles also survive; Orville and Ed Rice, Topeka, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Norman, and a sister, Mary Frances.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel’s Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, Hutchinson, Kan. with Pastors Carl Elder and Rev. Nathan Karriker presiding. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Crematory & Mausoleum. Memorials may be given in care of the funeral home.
