James Allen Vanderblomen
August 30, 1967 – March 14, 2023
James Allen Vanderblomen, 55, of Topeka, KS, formerly of Mayetta, KS, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Advena Living Home in Topeka, KS. He was born August 30, 1967 in Topeka, KS the son of James Sylvester and Elizabeth A. (Wahquahboshkuk) Vanderblomen.
James graduated from Royal Valley High School and later attended Baker University earning his Certified Nurses Aide Degree. He proudly served in the United States Navy.
James worked as a CNA for Presbyterian Manor. Most recently he worked as a carpenter and maintenance for VA Hospital both in Topeka.
He was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and the Native American Church.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Kati Ascott of Topeka, KS and Krista Vanderblomen (Sydney Lopez) of Kansas City, MO; son, Richard Vanderblomen of Kansas City, MO; sister, Celeste Murphy of Mayetta, KS and 2 grandchildren, Kises Gallegos and Serenity Dell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Richard Lee Vanderblomen and a daughter, Vanessa Bernie.
Native American Service was held March 20, 2023, at Nozhackum Hall. Burial with Military Honors, presented by We-Ta-Se Post 410, was the following morning, March 21, 2023 at Wezo Cemetery.
