TOPEKA, KS – James Lee Eteeyan, 58, of Topeka, KS passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born January 18, 1959 in Topeka, the son of Pauline Mzhickteno.
Jimmy worked for 501 School District as a painter for 14 1/2 years. He also worked for Fleenor Plumbing in Topeka. He was a member of Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
Jimmy married Esther Maie Bailey Bateson on March 15, 2006. She survives of the home. Other survivors include 2 daughters, Nicole Eteeyan and Christina Barth both of Topeka, KS; step-son, Donald Bateson of Topeka, KS; step-daughter, Kathy Bateson of Topeka, KS; sister, Carol DeWitt of Mayetta, KS; 3 brothers, Harold Persinger, Jr. and Marshall Persinger both of Mayetta, KS and Harold Roberts of Lawrence, KS and 5 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Archie and Laura (Moore) Eteeyan and a step-daughter, Linda Maie McFarland.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Shipshee Cemetery.
