Jolene Cecilia McDonald, 76, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 surrounded in love by her family. She was born November 21, 1948 in Lawrence, Kansas to Joseph A. and Mary Virginia (Sayler) McDonald. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Speech from California State University Long Beach, where she was active in the American Indian Student Council. She went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Education from California State University Dominguez Hills.
Jolene worked as a teacher in Long Beach, California and retired from Dallas Ind. School District in 2010. She made many friendships over the years. Her dedication and support for her students influenced their lives in many positive ways.
She enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed watching sitcoms and movies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Eileen Suzette (Hearod) Flusche; her brothers, Robert Maurice McDonald, Michael Paul McDonald, and Daniel Joseph McDonald; and her great grandson, Alexander Charles Green.
Jolene is survived by her grandsons, Timothy Flusche of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Aric Flusche of Allen, Texas; her granddaughters, Anna Flusche of Plano, Texas, Ashley Hearod and Bethany Hearod, both of Fayetteville, Arkansas; son, Thomas Hearod of Fayetteville, Arkansas; siblings, Connie McDonald of Long Beach, California, and Ray McDonald of Pismo Beach, California; along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
