Lois Rue Dominguez Obituary

Lois Rue Dominguez
January 1, 1956 – January 9, 2024

Lois Rue “Louie” Wabaunsee Dominguez, 68, of Wichita, KS, passed away January 8, 2024 at her home; with her husband, Mike Dominguez, by her side. She was born January 1, 1956 in Mayetta, KS, the daughter of Llewellyn “Lou” and Freda J. (Nozhackum) Wabaunsee. She was a sister, wife, mother and grandmother, whom she had a heart full of love for her family.

If you knew Louie, you’d know her family was her everything, she dedicated her life to her son, 2 daughters, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Louie was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. She was truly an unforgettable woman, she will be loved and missed eternally.

She married Michael “Mike” Dominguez on June 13, 1985 in Wichita, KS. They celebrated over 38 years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Dominguez of the home; sister, Winifred “Goffy” Wahweotten of Mayetta, KS; son, Ron Wabaunsee Dominguez; 2 daughters, Francine Michael Dominguez and Andrea Marie Dominguez all of Wichita, KS, 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lou and Freda Wabaunsee; 4 sisters, Marsha Ferrari, Louella “Henry” Wabaunsee, Mary “Monnie” Wabaunsee and Frances Wabaunsee; 3 brothers, Fred Lew Wabaunsee, Richard Wabaunsee and Ralph Wabnum and a granddaughter, Josephina Lalia Dominguez.

Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. Rosary was recited at 4:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2024 at the Sister Therese Klepac Hall with a wake following. She laid-in-state 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
