Martha Jean “Mishsekwe” Valdivia Obituary

January 11, 2015  Martha Jean “Mishsekwe” Valdivia, 67, of Topeka, died January 11,

Martha Jean “Mishsekwe” Valdivia, 67, of Topeka, died January 11, 2015 at the House at Midland Care surrounded by her family. She was born in Holton, Kansas on February 27, 1947 the daughter of Peter and Mary “Shugo” (Moore) Levier. Martha was retired as a Data Processor for Southwestern Bell after over 20 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. She married Florencio “Count” Valdivia on April 28, 1973 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. He survives. She is survived by her children, Steven Levier, Celeste Weber both of Topeka, Peter Spencer of Leavenworth, Donna Valdivia-Wofford and Angie Campos both of Topeka. Seven grandchildren; Paige, Ashley, Chelsie, Nathan, Amber, Lyrique, and Lorenzo, four great-grandchildren; Amiyah, Luis, Destiny and Analicia, along with four siblings, Geneva, Sharon, Bernadette and Glen also survive. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Albert Levier and a granddaughter, Luisa. Martha will lie in state at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
