ROBERTA (KELTNER) ASSELIN

HOYT – Roberta (Keltner) Asselin, Sug-Wi, 51, of Topeka, was found Sunday, November 16, 2008 at her home.
She was born July 19, 1957 at Newport News, Virginia, the daughter of Robert and Theresa “Osh” Wabnum Asselin.
Roberta worked for the State of Kansas as a data entry operator. She had attended Washburn University for a degree in drug and alcohol counseling.
She was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and attended Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka.
Roberta married Ray Keltner. They were divorced.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Asselin.
Survivors include two sons, Curtis J. Keltner, Ft. Bragg, N.C., and Michael M. Keltner, Mayetta; her father and step-mother, Robert Asselin & Janice Asselin, Topeka; her mother, Theresa “Osh” Asselin, Mayetta; one brother, Peter Asselin, Concord, N.C.; two sisters, Sandra Quintana and Melanie Asselin, both of Topeka; an adopted grandmother, Voncile Mitchell, Mayetta; an adopted brother, Kabot Hale, Horton, and four grandchildren, Zachary, Kyle & Leilani Keltner, and Dustin Keltner.
A rosary and prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. Cremation will follow. Inurnment will be Saturday in the Matwe-ShobneyCemetery on the Potawatomi Common Land. Roberta will lie in state after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
