Will “Herman” Ogden Sr., 64, died on January 1, 2009 at the Maple Heights Nursing Home in Hiawatha, KS. He was recently moved to the nursing home during his fight with prostrate cancer. Will was born February 17, 1944 in Falls City, NE.
Will married Opal M. Penny on May 25, 1963. They had three children; Melinda (Ogden) Scates of White Cloud, KS, Norman Ogden of Falls City, NE, and Will Herman Ogden (Junior) who preceded him in death in 1984.
Will and Opal were divorced in 1980. She preceded him in death in 1998. Will married Peggy Eccles on April 18, 1989 and they separated in 2005. She survives. They had two children; Dwayne Ogden, Hiawatha, KS and Juanita (Ogden) Davis of St. Joseph, MO. Three step children; Dan Eccles of Hiawatha ,KS, David Eccles of Topeka, KS and Rachelle Crumbaker of Lakewood, Washington.
Will has 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and another due in June 2009. Other survivors include: brothers; Roy Ogden of Mayetta, KS, Larry Ogden of Independence, MO, and sisters; Irene Henninger of White Cloud, KS, Cora Humon of Elmwood, NE, Mildred Rohr of White Cloud, KS, and Cass Marlow of Capay, CA.
He will lie in state at the GeorgeOgdenBuilding at White Cloud, KS after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
A Native American wake service will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the George Ogden Building at White Cloud, KS. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. that evening.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2008 at the George Ogden Building at White Cloud, KS. Interment will follow at the TessonCemetery. A meal will follow interment at the GeorgeOgdenBuilding. Online condolences may be made to www.chapeloaksfuneralhome.com
