HB 2498 Signed Into Law

TOPEKA, KS – Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer, M.D. signed into law HB 2498 on Monday morning, March 26, 2018. HB 2498 prohibits governmental entities from prohibiting the wearing of tribal regalia and objects of cultural significance at public events in the State of Kansas.

Members of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and PBPN Tribal Council attended the signing at the state Capitol building, as did House Representatives Ponka-we Victors and Les Osterman, the current Haskell Indian Nations University Princess and members of the Kickapoo Tribe In Kansas.
