MAYETTA: A 5K walk/run, a commodity food cook off and a Farmer’s Market are all a part of a Health Nutrition Fair scheduled for next Thursday, September 3 at the Bingo Hall. The event is being sponsored by the Potawatomi Food Distribution program.
Other activities on tap will include a blood drive, health-related booths and displays, and two motivational presentations given by internationally known storyteller and success coach D.J.Vanas.
Activities begin at 8 a.m. with the 5K Walk/Run at Prairie Peoples Park that is being organized by Jackie Cummings who can be reached at 785.966.2756. At 9 a.m. events get underway at the Bingo Hall that will run throughout the day.
The blood drive will be conducted by the Community Blood Center that plans to bring its ‘Blood Vessel,’ an educational exhibit, that will be located in the Bingo Hall parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Farmer’s Market will also be available near there.
