Notice of Completion of Draft Amended Tribal Environmental Impact Report (TEIR) for “HWY 75/150 Mixed Use Project”

DRAFT AMENDED TRIBAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT (TEIR)
FOR “HWY 75/150 MIXED USE PROJECT”

To All Interested Agencies, Groups and Persons:

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Prairie Band Potawatomi Law & Order Code Title 31 Business Site Lease Ordinance, Chapter 31-7 Environmental Review Process and 25 U.S.C. §415(h) , the Draft Amended Tribal Environmental Impact Report (TEIR) for the proposed “Hwy 75/150 Mixed Use Project”, has been completed.  

The Hwy 75/150 Mixed Use Project site encompasses a total of 50 acres, of which 31.77 acres are proposed to be developed in a mixed-use project with industrial, retail, residential and office uses. The site will be subdivided into eight parcels with two points of ingress/egress from 150th Road. Phase I of the project will develop Parcel 7 as a manufacturing facility with associated stormwater and wastewater facilities to the east.

The proposed project is situated on land that is held in federal trust for the Tribe. The tract can be legally described as that part of the South Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 26, Township 8 South, Range 15 East of the 6th P.M., Jackson County, Kansas lying east of US Highway 75 and north of 150th Road.

Additional documentation and a full copy of the Draft TEIR for the Hwy 75/Mixed Use Project will be available for review at the following locations and may be examined from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.:

Any individual, group, or agency wishing to comment on the Draft TEIR and any significant effect on the environment of the proposed action, may submit written comments to the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Tribal Council Secretary.  Chapter 31-7-5 (A)(4) of the Law & Order Code requires a period of 30 business days during which the Nation will receive comments on the Draft TEIR.  The comment period shall begin the date this Notice is officially posted as required by Chapter 31-7-5(A). All comments received after September 13, 2024, will not be considered by the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Tribal Council.
