MAYETTA: Chairman Steve Ortiz was among the more than 400 members of federally recognized tribes today at a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by President Barack Obama, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and Cabinet Members.

The event was streamed live on www.MyTribe.com and www.whitehouse.gov.com and the President answered questions from the audience from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. eastern time. Ortiz plans to fly home tomorrow after attending several meetings and receptions with White House dignitaries and other Tribal Leaders this past week in Washington, D.C.
