Native Vote volunteers have been working hard to get people to register to vote and to get them to the polls. Over 110 new voters have been registered. From left to right is Kumos Hubbard, Verna Simon, Paula Hopkins and Harold Simon.
MAYETTA: The polls are open and the Native Vote volunteer team is urging all voters to get to the polls. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and registered voters that don’t know where to vote can find out at
https://myvoteinfo.voteks.org/VoterView/PollingPlaceSearch.do
Here in Mayetta, voters will vote at St. Francis Xavier Church that is located at the corner of James and 3rd Street. The church is located one block west of the Middle School.
Voters that live near Holton will vote at the Jackson County Courthouse.
Voters must show their ID cards before voting.
Rides are available for those who wish to vote today by calling Paula Hopkins at 785.383.5844 or the Firekeepers Elder Center at 785.966.0040.
A Native Vote Election potluck will also be held tonight at 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Bingo Hall.
