MAYETTA: Notices for the 2011 Ethics Commission Election were mailed to tribal members on April 5. The election is scheduled for July 23 at the Bingo Hall.

The filing period for candidates is from April 18-29 at 4 p.m. and the seats available are for Vice Chair (3-year term), Commission #1 (3-year term), Commission # 2 (2-year term) and Commission #3 (2-year term).

The Commission was approved in 2007 with the purpose of investigating and hearing complaints against Nation officials which arise under the code of ethics provisions that were created by the Ethics Commission after they were elected.
